Day 3 Tokyo

Very very very wet day caused by a typhoon in the south of Japan.  BUT we soldiered on anyway. After breakfast we set out to find the famous fish markets Tsukiji Market. Fascinating place- we were not there for the early morning buying and selling but it was still very busy and HUGE. It really is hard to imagine there is that many fish in the sea! One of the most striking things we noticed was the lack of fishy smell as everything is so fresh. We tried a few pieces of sashimi - delicious!  After the markets we found a beautiful Buddhist temple - Senso-ji temple.  Outside the temple there are so many good luck charms and good fortunes - Lilly discovered she is going to be rich.  We walked in the rain and caught some trains to get to the Sumo Tournament. This was a lot of fun and so wonderful to watch the ceremony and tradition of the sport.  The bulk of the time is the wrestlers preparing for the bout - they have a four minute time limit which they use all of and then the wrestle is over in less than a minute.  It was a lot of fun to watch.  The rain has made for a challenging day but all up still a great day in Tokyo.
